What you are paying for
Three things set the price of Klaviyo management:
- Scope. Campaigns only; campaigns plus flow upkeep; or the whole channel (strategy, flows built and rebuilt, campaigns with design and copy, popups, deliverability, testing, reporting).
- People. One generalist, or a team where a designer designs and a copywriter writes. Quality in email is visible: the second model costs more and looks like it.
- Accountability. Hours billed, deliverables listed, or a result guaranteed with a penalty for missing it.
Klaviyo’s own subscription is on top in every model: roughly $45 a month at 1,500 profiles, $150 at 5,000, $400 at 20,000, $700 at 45,000, $1,000 and more at 100,000, on the email plan, before SMS.
The market in 2026
| Model | Monthly price | What you usually get | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freelancer | $500 to $2,000 | Campaigns, basic flow upkeep, one person’s design and copy | Capacity: the fifth client gets the leftovers |
| Specialist Klaviyo agency (small team) | $600 to $3,000 | The whole channel, a designer and a copywriter, reporting | Whether flows are built or templated; whether sends are segmented |
| Full-service agency | $3,000 to $10,000 | The channel plus account management, strategy decks, meetings | You pay for the office and the meetings; output per dollar is lowest |
| In-house marketer | $5,000 and up with tools and design | Full control, brand knowledge | One person cannot do strategy, copy, design and tech well; add a designer |
| Performance-based | 10% to 25% of attributed revenue | Aligned incentive | Attribution disputes; works best over $50K a month in email revenue |

Is it worth it? A way to check
Take your Shopify revenue of the last 90 days and the share Klaviyo attributes to email. The median in the stores we run is 22%. If you are at 12% on $100K a month, the gap to the median is $10K a month; a $1,000 retainer that closes half of it pays for itself 5 times over. If you are at 12% on $15K a month, the gap is $1,500 and the retainer is most of it; a template and a careful founder are the better buy, and we will say so.
What a cheap price usually hides
- Whole-list sends (no segmentation work).
- Flows copied from a template, one email each, never tested.
- No designer: the emails look like the platform’s defaults.
- Reports of opens and clicks, not revenue.
- No answer to “what happens if it does not work”.
Next step
The free 30-minute audit gives you the number for your store and which package, if any, fits. The Setup is the right first buy for an account without working flows; a retainer is right for one that has them and needs them run.
The next benchmark, before it is public
Every quarter we re-pull the numbers from the accounts we run and send the summary first to the list, with the teardowns in between. No weekly newsletter, no discounts, unsubscribe in one click.
